After Effects - Tutorial tip
Adding an "adjustment layer" shortcut to AFX
by "Nightmare Kinetics"
I never ceases to amaze me how often I use this AFX feature and
still there's no shortcut Well look no further, as a solution is
here!
There is a shortcuts file hidden deep down in your PC that can be
edited to add this shortcut to your application
1 - First go to Tools-->folder-options-->View
then scroll down to
"Hidden files and folder" and check the option "show hidden files
and folders"
2 - hit apply, OK
3 - Navigate to: Documents and settings\Owner\application data\Adobe\after
effects\8.0\Adobe After Effects 8.0 Shortcuts.txt
4- Open this document with the application "wordpad"
5- Find the section where it lists:
"NewDebugComp" = "(Shift+Alt+D)"
"NewLight" = "(Ctrl+Alt+Shift+L)"
now type this shortcut :
"NewEffectsLayer" = "(Ctrl+Alt+Y)"
and paste between like shown:
"NewDebugComp" = "(Shift+Alt+D)"
"NewEffectsLayer" = "(Ctrl+Alt+Y)"
"NewLight" = "(Ctrl+Alt+Shift+L)"
SAVE
Now when you open AFX, the adjustment layer will have a shortcut
you can access!
This
Info page brought to you by the nice folks at Nightmare
