Software or solution to converting a PAL format DVD or file into NTSC?
by "Nightmare Kinetics"

I have a PAL .avi or DVD that I want to convert to NTSC.
Is there an easy way to do it?
Is there software available?

Well, up to recently it was a pretty extensive experience of going back and forth thru different programs but recently I came across a great software solution for this. The amazing program is called:
VSO's ConvertXto DVD

The website is located at:
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

I mention this as its been years searching for something that is fast and affordable that will convert those annoying PAL formatted movies to something watchable on a regular DVD player.

How to:
for .avi files? - you just drag the file into the window, make sure your defaults are set to NTSC and click "Build DVD" (also make sure you have a DVD blank inserted into your burner)

You only have the original PAL DVD?
Easy, just go to File-->Add video File
Navigate to your DVD inside the Video_TS Folder
Navigate to your VIDEO_TS.VOB file and select "Open"
It will show your DVD files in thr program under DVD titleset.
Click the button "Build DVD"
It will read your DVD, convert it and then burn to your burner.

It will convert all the frames on the fly to proper format and burn it to disk all in one shot.
Can't get any easier than that.

RECOMMENDED!!
Personal note! We cant recommend this product enough.
You simply load the PAL DVD into your computer DVD player land the program take scare of the rest for you! No worries about 25 fps conversion or PAL sound conversion! When its done translating the data it burns it automatically to regular NTSC DVD No need for purchasing an expensive NTSC/PAL combo DVD player for your TV.
